From Milan to Bucharest, how Arben Ahmetaj's trips were paid with the Zotos card: 1600 euros for two nights
Written by SOT.COM.AL 9 Dhjetor 2022
The report of the journalist Adriatik Doçi, on the international day against corruption, is a strong indicator of corruption at high levels of the government, which has shaken the public opinion quite a bit.
In the evidence provided by the journalist Doçi, several emails can be seen that the wanted citizen Klodian Zoto has asked for 5-star hotels, reservations for the former Minister of Finance Arben Ahmetaj and his wife Erjola Hoxha.
The first evidence submitted by the journalist is an e-mail where the luxury hotel in Vienna "Starlight suiten hotel renngasse" has confirmed the payment of Klodian Zoto in 2013 for the stay of Arben Ahmetaj. Attached to the evidence is the credit card of citizen Klodian Zoto.
Another reservation is at the Hotel Principe di Savoia, in Milan. According to Zoto's emails, he reserved a room in the Ambassador Suite for the citizen Mirel Mërtiri, but in fact the former Minister Arben Ahmetaj was invited. For this reservation, in one of the best hotels in Milan, Zoto paid for Ahmatej 1600 euros for 2 nights of stay.
In the third piece of evidence presented in the SPAK report, there is another email where Zoto pays a bill in September 2016 at Mandarine Oriental Hotel, again in Milan, but this time for Arben Ahmetaj's wife, Mrs. Erjola Hoxha. It is not known how much the payment was made to Mrs. Hoxha, but only one night's stay in this hotel starts from 1,500 euros to 8,000 euros for the Suite.
In the fourth test, it is the reservation of a 5-star hotel again in Vienna, at the Hotel Sans Souci Vienna, where Zoto paid only for two nights about 1180 euros. The same leaks of Zoto's emails continue for two other reservations, the first being for the Grand Hotel Mariott in Bucharest, and the other at the Hotel Hermitage in Monte Carlo.
For the first reservation, Zoto paid a Matrimonial Room for Arben Ahmetaj, in July 2017, worth 1767 euros. The trips coincide with the dates before and after the concession of the Elbasan incinerator, raising suspicions of corruption against the former Minister of Finance.
