The Minister of Justice, Etilda Gjonaj, is very enthusiastic about the passage in the Assembly of the US-Albania Extradition Treaty signed on December 22, 2020.
Gjonaj warns that anyone who is currently being prosecuted or sentenced for an extraditable crime will be brought to justice.
"The National Security Committee of the Assembly passes the US-Albania Extradition Treaty signed on December 22, 2020. A proof of the growing Tirana-Washington partnership from the First Treaty on March 1, 1933. There is no shelter for those hiding from justice, fugitives, criminals neither in Albania nor in the USA. Anyone seeking prosecution or serving a sentence for an extraditable crime will be brought to justice. "A stronger weapon more to show crime that it does not escape punishment," Gjonaj said.
