The leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, has called on the government to urgently open regional hospitals to put them in function of the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to the leader of the Democrats, Rama has no plans to fight the pandemic and this is shown by the government's attitude towards schools.
"Yesterday the prime minister said that schools are not hotbeds, today it was decided to close them partially," said Basha, adding that the situation is worrying.
"It is clear that Rama has failed with the pandemic plan. Without a plan you can not fight the pandemic and you can not defeat the pandemic to save lives. This has been my call, a serious plan for the pandemic, starting with an accurate number of tests, equipping hospitals with equipment, doctors and nurses. There is no other solution but to put regional hospitals in function of this battle. If the regional hospitals were prepared we would not be in this state of collapse that we are today. We are all witnesses to the disaster. It is imperative to act urgently with a plan and not casually. The pandemic is not fought without a plan. Yesterday the Prime Minister said that the schools are not hearths, today it was decided to partially close them. We need a responsible government, which leaves everything to fight the pandemic. I welcome any kind of reflection. It never occurs to me to consider the political opponent in these difficult moments. How many lives would have been saved if action had been taken. "The government and Edi Rama have no plan, and this is exactly what worries me today", said Basha.
