Rama is 'remembered' after 10 years of government: There are no more building permits for companies if they do not guarantee the salaries of employees

Rama is 'remembered' after 10 years of government: There are no more

Prime Minister Edi Rama, during a visit to a subject in Tirana, said that a construction worker cannot be given a minimum wage when the square meter of an apartment has exceeded 1 thousand euros. He added that there will be no more building permits for companies if they do not guarantee adequate wages for employees.

"This is no longer a reward for a workforce that makes possible the biggest profits for Albanian companies, but it is the exploitation of employees up to the limits, the goals of survival. And we don't have to tolerate it anymore. Today we are in the conditions where the economy and productivity guarantee not only profits for the enterprise but income far beyond the salaries that are given or declared.

What is the other side of the coin of this evil is that in this 32 percent there is a big lie because it is partly the wages that are given and partly the wages that are declared while another part is paid in black. Which means benefits that are beyond normal and that go to the last drop of blood and sweat on the part of our capitalists.

The person, the employee and the state are hit. Man because that salary that is received in black is the robbery of pension and health assistance in case of need. The state is shocked that for this reason it does not receive these two. This is not about taxes, but about those who receive the salary themselves, who are deprived of the right to have a fair pension, and then we hear their complaints about why pensions are not increased. How will they grow if there is no contribution for pensions?", said Rama.

The head of the government added that they are formulating a draft with the Minister of Finance, Delina Ibrahimaj, to pass it to the Assembly for approval.

"In this aspect, we will make some interventions, which will give support to employees to guarantee their rights. On the other hand, we are formulating with the minister a draft that we will discuss in the government and parliament, we will no longer accept construction companies that ask for taxpayers' money to build roads, nurseries, schools or we will not give you construction permits if they bring salaries Like that. We cannot finance companies that do not guarantee employees' salaries with taxpayers' money," said Rama.
