Rama attacks the EU and accuses it of being hypocritical with Albania, here is the Prime Minister's message to Great Britain

Rama attacks the EU and accuses it of being hypocritical with Albania, here is

During his visit to London on the second day, Prime Minister Edi Rama held a conversation at the Royal Institute of International Relations, while among other things he was asked about Albania's membership in the EU and the entire Union as a whole. Rama said that the EU is a challenge which directly affects the internal improvement of a state. However, Rama emphasizes that sometimes even when a country makes progress, the EU is not always ready to 'open its arms'. In other words, Rama sees as problematic the fact that the European union is essentially a separate union, because according to him it is essentially hypocritical. Illustrating it with the example of the Netherlands, during the elections, Rama implied that the rhetoric used now about the Albanians in Great Britain is due to the elections that are expected to come. "Even the EU doesn't know anything about this, no one does. But the hardest part is that we have to do our homework. Yes, we have to fulfill them to please them, but that these homeworks enable a modern and functional democracy. And this means, to have the separation of powers, with actions not words. This means that we have independent justice. And this will make Albania a modern and European state. We have seen an EU that has been hypocritical with us, because we have done our homework but it was not enough, because they had their own problems. The EU is sometimes a federation of egos, there are 27 elections for everything and they are not on the same day. You should read the EU while watching the elections. It doesn't matter if you do your homework or not, because in the meantime we have elections in the Netherlands. At that time we had to deal with the same rhetoric as Britain does today. And at that time, the enemy was used in the main title and this has made the Albanians with rafts like Vikings to conquer Western England. The war in Ukraine brought it to the EU itself in geopolitical terms. They are more vigilant and understand that they cannot leave the Balkans out", he declared. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Edi Rama continued his criticism of British Home Secretary Suella Braverman, emphasizing that she knew she was wrong when she called Albanians criminals, but never apologized. “Do you think Suella Braverman didn't know she was saying something wrong. Politicians say wrong things and regret it later, it's happened to me too. Sometimes words escape, but then the next day comes, the next week comes, and you find a way to say sorry. She has never said sorry because she is not sorry. So you can't do anything to change the perception of Albanians in Britain. The truth of the Albanian community has contributed a lot and they should live longer than Braverman. Be proud of where you come from and respect the British and Albanian flags", Rama underlined.
