DP MP Dashnor Sula declares that the government is also breaking its own corruption records. Taking cues from the latest EBRD report, Sula writes that governance outcomes have deteriorated significantly in a number of areas of the economy over the past six years, largely reflecting increases in informality and corruption.

He points out that while we all expect to join the West by joining their standards, the government is taking us 180 degrees in the opposite direction.

According to the DP deputy, the relativization of corruption by the majority gives courage to thieves in the administration and gives effect to the depopulation of the country.

The Albanian government in its 11th year is surpassing even the records set by itself. Of course, not towards improvement, but what are called "black records". Just today, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development published a report in which it was said that corruption in Albania has increased compared to 2016, when the country was ruled by the same majority.
According to the report, the indicator that measures good governance has fallen from 5.26 points that was in 2016 to 4.62 points in 2021. Governance results have significantly worsened in a number of spheres of the economy over the past six years, mainly reflecting increased informality and corruption.
While we all expect to join the west by joining their standards, the government takes us 180 degrees in the opposite direction. We have the same rhythms as Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has problems of a very different nature from us.
The EBRD report published today actually answers a major concern of the EU, the significant increase in asylum requests. Citizens do not want to live with a government that "whips" them every time they have to receive even a basic service. The case of the official who was stolen by the cleaner should have served as a moment to make a big turn and take an initiative to fight corruption in every cell of the administration, but unfortunately it was passed with relativization by the majority and no measures taken .
