Dismissal of Meta without a deadline, the session in the Constitutional Court is

The Constitutional Court does not yet have a date on the Parliament's decision to dismiss President Ilir Meta. A few days ago it was the Constitution itself, which announced that it has taken the decision to pass in a public plenary session the decision of the Assembly to dismiss the President of the Republic, Ilir Meta for serious violations of the Constitution, while not revealing the date when to assemble. But the newspaper has made an analysis of the situation and it turns out that Meta's dismissal has been postponed indefinitely, as the Constitutional Court has not scheduled any hearing for the head of state even in November. According to the announcement published by the Constitutional Court on its official website, in November it is planned to hold 2 sessions by this institution, while the "Meta" issue is not on the work calendar. Thus, in November, the Constitutional Court will convene to review on November 2 the lawsuit of the Association of Albanian Municipalities, which seeks the annulment of the local elections of June 30, 2019. While the next session scheduled in the Constitutional Court is expected to convenes on November 23, where the citizen Emin Lusha requests the abrogation of decisions no. 282, dated 10.12.2019 of the High Judicial Council; no.36, dated 21.02.2020 of the Administrative Court of Appeal; no.00-2020-991, dated 28.12.2020 of the Administrative College of the High Court, as incompatible with the Constitution. So, the fact that during the month of November the Constitutional Court will convene only twice, while there is no announcement when the public plenary session will take place for the decision of the Assembly to dismiss President Ilir Meta,

Strong fight in the background

But on the other hand, the dismissal or not of President Ilir Meta seems to have increased the anxiety in the ranks of those affected, as it is learned that a strong fight is taking place behind the scenes, so that this issue is dragged out. President Meta's term ends in July next year, and he and his loyalists appear to be investing in blocking and delaying the dismissal process. It is even learned that people close to President Meta in the High Judicial Council and the Judicial Appointments Council are trying to delay the process, in order not to fill the Constitutional Court with 9 members. However it remains to be seen in the coming days what will happen more concretely. Recall that on October 15 of this month, The Constitutional Court announced that it will consider in Parliament a plenary session the decision of the Parliament to dismiss President Ilir Meta from office. The Constitutional Court is considering the decision of the Assembly of Albania no. 55/2021, dated 09.06.2021 "On the dismissal of the President of the Republic of Albania for serious violations of the Constitution".
