Former Deputy of the Democratic Party, Rudina Hajdari, said this evening that Prime Minister Edi Rama will be investigated by the FBI.
The member of the DP National Council said during an interview in the media that SPAK should also cooperate with American prosecutors.
According to her, Rama has misused the law by using the post of prime minister for personal interests and to destroy the opposition.
"The Prime Minister of Albania has been cited 14 times in the indictment, a scandal never seen before. Here is a person who is cooperating with the FBI and knows this story well, there may be a traitor who is cooperating to reveal intimate details of these affairs. Edi Rama is very scared at this moment, I believe. He used his position for personal reasons, to harm and capture the opposition.
And all these must go before Albanian justice. Rama appeared on several TV channels and denied his involvement or his investigation by American justice. Not only will he be investigated, but he is using his position, his immunity as prime minister, to protect his privacy so that when the investigation is done, there is a law in America that protects the public. In the case of Mr. Rama who uses the post to protect himself, only saying that it violates his personal security. Today as we speak, Edi Rama has violated the Albanian law and has used the post of Prime Minister against the opposition, against Albanian democracy.
We should be concerned by the fact that the country's prime minister has used his political position to exploit and harm the opposition. This should be fully investigated not only by the American prosecutor's office, which is doing it, but SPAK should also cooperate with the Americans, in order to fully clarify what happened, that the Albanian prime minister violated the law. "He misused the position of the prime minister for personal interests to advance his personal agenda," said Hajdari.
