Albanian diplomat Ermal Dredha will be the official candidate of the Socialist Party for the Municipality of Vlora. He presided over the voting that took place this morning in the Assembly of the Socialist Party, in front of the other candidate Fate Velaj.
Ermal Dredha is a career diplomat from Albania and has expressed his desire to run Vlora, a city previously run by his father. He is the son of Neki Dredha, former mayor of Vlora in 2000.
After years in diplomacy, Ermal Dredha will return to his homeland, to compete under the Socialist Party logo and to continue the transformation of the coastal city.
For two consecutive terms, Vlora has been run by doctor Dritan Leli, who has decided not to run again since he has not had the support of Rama and the party structures for a long time.
