"The attack on Berisha eclipsed the EU Summit", the journalist sheds

Journalist Erl Murati commented on the attack on former Prime Minister Sali Berisha two days ago during the protest, which he said eclipsed the EU Summit that took place in Tirana.

According to him, Berisha is a "political animal" and with the experience he has, he managed to manage the whole situation well after the incident.

In a TV interview, Murati said that Berisha's resurgence leading the protest confirms that the opposition will not back down at any moment.

Murati: During the last few days, I had the opportunity to call Berisha a "political animal" precisely because of his behavior. He is not only an experienced man who is "beaten" in these three decades of politics with many scandals, but he chews politics at every moment. He showed this when he was punched and how he remained calm during the protest.

Today we saw that on Youth Day, he gave a message to Albanian youth despite speaking in raised and harsh tones about the revolution. He again mentioned voting and election. Although he has a harsh language, of course because of his experience, he knows that political changes only come through voting. It is good news, confirmation that the opposition is doomed to enter and participate in the next local elections.

That hit was a serious incident. I wish justice to be transparent. Berisha is responsible that political life continues. There was no hostage to this incident. He called on the protesters to come forward. The confirmation that Berisha made that the DP will participate in the elections, this is a positive thing.

For the EU summit, Murat said that it was of great importance and that it gave important messages regarding the integration of the Western Balkans into the union.

Murati: Parallel to the summit, there was the coup against the leader of the opposition, Berisha. It eclipsed the day that should have been a celebration of democracy. It was a historic summit, when EU members came to Tirana. They chose Tirana and it is a positive message that is given to Albania and the Balkans. We are witnessing the final declaration of the summit, it sent a message to the Balkan countries that our future is in Europe. The second message was that, against the interventions of third countries, this area is under the influence of the West. The incident with Berisha overshadowed this event.
