Appointed as a rapporteur by the Council of Europe for the sequestration of Russian assets/ Basha: For me it is a great responsibility and a great trust, the first time that Albania has a rapporteur on such an important issue

Basha: The unprovoked aggression, the crime that Putin has smeared and is committing has an extraordinary bill on Ukraine in the incalculable damage of human lives lost, injured, maimed by the war, in the damage of public and private property. The same aggressor has a network of its own assets, in the G7 countries with a value of over 300 billion dollars, they are assets of the Russian State. My task as the rapporteur of the Council of Europe is to draft a framework that will be proposed to member countries and non-member countries of the Council of Europe, through which these funds will be made available for the reconstruction of Ukraine.

For me it is a great responsibility and a great trust and it is the first time that Albania has a rapporteur on such an important issue. Damages must be initiated by the one who caused this damage. It is a voluminous and complicated work, but I think he will succeed in this work. The US and the EU pay 1 billion euros per day to Ukraine. It is a responsibility that he accepts with pleasure and as a sign of confidence in the DP of Albania.
