The black squads were all in favor of the release from prison of the former Minister of the Interior, Saimir Tahiri.
None of the participants in this process has expressed an opinion against the former deputy of the Socialist Party staying in prison.
Ora News reports that the representative of the Elbasan prosecution, Mustafa Turku, the representatives of the Tirana Probation Service, the lawyer of the Kosovo prison in Lushnje, as well as the judge Matilda Fetahu herself, agreed that Saimir Tahiri should leave the premises of the Kosovo prison in Lushnje.
Thus, the judge of the case, Matilda Fetahu, has approved the request of the defense lawyers, deciding on June 2, 2023, to suspend the execution of the sentence in the prison premises for Saimir Tahir, so that he can spend the rest of the sentence at home.
According to the court's decision, Tahiri used a medical epicrisis of his wife, Fatlinda Tahiri, who turns out to be unable to take care of the two minor children, due to her health condition. Based on Article 59/a of the Penal Code, Tahiri addressed the court of Elbasan with a request to serve the remaining sentence at home.
Former Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri will spend the remainder of his sentence, 20 months, at home and no longer in prison.
