Albin Kurti reacts after the tensions in the north and the criticism of the USA and QUINT

 Tensions were created during the assistance by the Kosovo Police to the mayors of the municipalities in the north of the country to exercise their right to work in the facilities of the respective municipalities. These tensions have put the Government of Kosovo and the Prime Minister, Albin Kurti at the center of criticism from the Department of State, the Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, the QUINT states, and many analysts in Kosovo. Despite the many criticisms that Kurti received for Dukagjini, he said that he has the support of the international community and the work is going well.

"I joined him and thank him very much for the invitation. But, just like yesterday, what is important to emphasize is that all we have aimed for as the Government and institutions of the Republic is to enable the mayors of municipalities elected in democratic elections to have access and work in their offices , where they must serve all citizens regardless of religion, ethnicity or background. And I believe that for this we will have the support of all international factors... We have the support of the internationals and the work is going well ", said Kurti.

What happened in the North of Kosovo?

The day before in the 4 municipalities with a Serbian majority in the north of Kosovo, alarm sirens were heard, where citizens also gathered in front of the municipal facilities in Zubin Potok, Zveçan and Leposavic. The situation worsened as gunshots were heard and tear gas was fired by the police to disperse the protesters who also burned cars. The protest took place as a sign of revolt by the Serbian protesters against the new Albanian mayors elected in the four municipalities with a Serbian majority.
