Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti said on Wednesday that the agreement for the normalization of relations with Serbia should be implemented in its entirety and not only the parts preferred by the parties, emphasizing the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority.

The European plan for which Kosovo and Serbia agreed on February 27 in Brussels and on March 18 in Ohrid for its implementation, requires good neighborly relations, recognition of documents and symbols and respect for each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity. It requires that the parties do not hinder each other in the integration processes, but does not require mutual recognition.

The plan also foresees the fulfillment of all the agreements previously reached in the talks mediated by the European Union, including the one for the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority in Kosovo.

"The agreement must be implemented in its entirety, there is no possibility for something to be implemented and something not to be implemented, as there cannot be a unilateral signing of the agreement nor of the implementation annex, there can also be no unilateral implementation of the agreement, therefore we should not tear up the agreement by taking the favorite parts", said Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

Prime Minister Kurti said that the urgency of implementation according to the agreement is only the issue of forcibly disappeared persons.

Officials of the European Union have invited for April 4 a meeting between the chief negotiators of Kosovo and Serbia in Brussels, to discuss the implementation of the Ohrid agreement for the normalization of relations between the two countries.

The non-signing of the document at the Ohrid meeting has raised doubts as to whether the parties will adhere to the implementation of the agreement, which is being treated as legally binding by international factors.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that on April 4, Brussels will discuss the implementation of the agreement for which there is agreement from both parties.

"So there is an agreement, there is an agreement, it is very clear, public to everyone and we need its correct and quick implementation, that's why a meeting between the chief negotiators will be organized", he said.

The Serbian President, Aleksandar Vu?i?, says Serbia will implement the agreement reached in Ohrid, but not its parts that deal with the possibility of Kosovo's membership in the United Nations.

Western diplomats have called on Kosovo and Serbia to start implementing the agreement as soon as possible, which will be part of the journey of both countries towards European integration. /VOA
