Here are the details from Vucic's "scorching" speech at the December 6 Summit in Tirana, Serbia will tell the EU leaders what the red lines are for Kosovo
Written by Alfrida Shanaj 5 Dhjetor 2022
The head of Serbian diplomacy, Ivica Dacic, spoke about the Summit of the European Union and the Western Balkans, which will be held in Tirana on December 6. He pointed to the red lines that will be discussed at the Summit for Kosovo if Vucic will be present. "Any agreement that does not include Kosovo as an independent state and its recognition, ie membership in the United Nations, is a good topic and basis for further discussions. Therefore, we are far from a final proposal, but when Serbia has clearly stated what our red lines are, but we are ready to talk, it is important to participate in the conversation", emphasized Dacic. We recall that a few days ago, the Serbian chief diplomat spoke harshly to us about Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe.
Rama: Serbia will participate in the Summit
While the Prime Minister of Albania, regarding the boycott of Serbia at the EU Summit, has stated that Serbia will be a participant in this summit. Serbia will be at the Summit and the president will have no other way but to come to the Summit," said Rama. Then he added that the opposite would be disastrous for Serbia and himself. A few days ago, the Serbian president Aleksandër Vu?i? said during the press conference with the Commissioner for Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi, that he does not regret any statement he made in recent days on the issue of Kosovo or even the decision on the summit in Tirana, which he said he will not take part. But the commissioner for enlargement of the European Union has insisted on Serbia's participation in the EU-Sedum summit, saying that Vucic should be present at the Tirana Summit. The reason for the rejection was the appointment of politician Nenad Rashi? to the post of Minister for Communities and Returns, which was held by the resigned chairman of the Serbian List, Goran Rakic. After that, Vucic said that he will make a decision on this issue at the weekend.
Tensions rise after Vucic's statements
The tense situation in the Balkans has also attracted the attention of the Council of Albanian Ambassadors, who in a post on Facebook have expressed that they are worried by the inciting and derogatory language of Vucic. According to them, this kind of language harms the peace and security of the region. "The Council of Albanian Ambassadors is following with concern the recent statements inciting conflict and the use of derogatory language by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, towards the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, the newly appointed Minister for Communities and Return of the Government of Kosovo, Nenad Rashic, and his collaborators of the Serbian community who do not agree with the politics of Serbia", the post continues.
EU: Kosovo and Serbia should have European behavior
