"As a member of NATO, Montenegro continues to contribute to collective security. At the same time, facing democratic challenges, it remains truly committed to European integration - the realization of a foreign policy priority".
This is what the acting Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dritan Abazovic, declared during his speech at the online Summit for Democracy at the invitation of the President of the United States of America, Joe Biden.
"Montenegro has achieved concrete results in the fight against corruption and organized crime, through a series of actions by the police and the Special State Prosecutor's Office. Also, the recent election of judges of the Constitutional Court sent a clear message that Montenegro is committed to strengthening democratic institutions", added Abazovic.
The most important task, according to him, is ensuring the rule of law.
"Ensuring the equality of citizens, building stronger and more efficient institutions, fighting corruption and organized crime, strengthening the independence of the judiciary, improving the position of minorities and supporting free and independent media", concluded Abazovic.
