Following the death of Amfilohije, the head of the Montenegrin Orthodox Church, and the head of the Serbian Church, Irinej, the coronavirus has also affected Republika Srpska leader Milorad Dodik. The Serb member of Bosnia and Herzegovina's tripartite presidency was diagnosed with pneumonia and Covid-19 on Tuesday.
The news was announced by the University Clinical Center in Banja Luka, a day after Dodik was hospitalized "with vomiting and stomach pain".
Earlier, his office had said that in the test for coronavirus conducted on December 19, Dodik had tested negative. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that the condition of the 61-year-old who was tested and isolated after meeting an infected person, is not ideal at all.
Dodik is not well, according to Vucic, however at the moment he seems stabilized. But if the situation worsens, then said the Serbian head of state, Dodik will be transferred immediately to Belgrade. Meanwhile, a team of Serbian specialist doctors has been sent to Banja Luka for consultations with doctors there, while Vucic said Dodik will have the best possible care.
