The former president of Serbia and the chairman of the Social Democratic Party, Boris Tadi?, said that he would not sign the Franco-German proposal for Kosovo and that the current government has a historical responsibility for solving the Kosovo issue.

He pointed out that the biggest absurdity is that Vucic's power lost Kosovo in peace.

Tadic says that the responsibility of this government for the position of Serbia today in the context of the solution of the Kosovo issue is great "if you take into account that the same options were in power in the nineties, of course we can talk about historical responsibility".

"Of course, I bear in mind that the greatest historical responsibility lies with those who were able to decide on this issue before the 1990s, and especially before the Constitution of 1974. During the 1990s, Serbia lost Kosovo in the war, and it is absurd that has been lost in the last decade and in peace".

He says that "only during our government we managed to protect in peace what was not lost in the war, even though in our time the independence of Kosovo was officially declared. The historical paradox or legality, depending on the point of view, is that the so-called nationalist and patriotic forces were the least protective of patriotic interests, while we, who were accused of treason, turned out to be the only truly patriotic option.

Asked by " N1 " what he would do, now that the European proposal is on the table, which Serbia must sign by the summer, if he were to sign it, Tadic says that it would be irresponsible to answer this question , "while we still do not know the final text that will be offered for signature, and not only for the trial balloons".
"What I have seen so far and what has been shown in public, I would not sign. And unlike others, I don't say this in a demagogic way, but I stand with my part behind, since I refused to sign what was later signed by this government as the Brussels Agreement".
He says that if an agreement were to be signed within the framework that is being discussed in public and international circles, it will be much more difficult, almost impossible, for Serbia to prevent Kosovo's membership in the UN.
"This power today, it is clear, must have been notified of the demands that will be made to Serbia for at least a few months and has not done anything to prevent it. I remind you that even in September at the UN General Assembly, Vucic did not say once in his speech that Kosovo's membership in the UN is unacceptable for Serbia".
