A new study conducted in South Korea, has found that consuming dark chocolate on a daily basis makes people happier.
Researchers in Korea have found that healthy adults who ate a total of 30 grams of dark chocolate a day were happier, compared with healthy adults who ate chocolate with less cocoa, or no chocolate at all.
However, the benefits were found only in consuming chocolate that contains 85 percent cocoa.
"Improvements in mood are thought to be related to microbial changes in the gut from eating chocolate," the researchers say.
Chocolate products with a high percentage of cocoa are better for health because they contain less sugar, fat, colorant and palm oil.
