When you leave a glass of water on a coffee table or bedside, a small amount of carbon dioxide is absorbed, causing the pH of the water to drop just enough to change its taste.
Plain water does not contain sugars, fats and proteins that can begin to break down, so despite the unusual taste, it is not unhealthy. On the other hand, if you always use the same glass, do not wash it regularly and do not even share it with someone, there is a greater chance that harmful microorganisms will appear on its surface.
It should also be borne in mind that every time we drink a sip of water and touch the glass, we transfer many microorganisms to it. If we do this before going to bed, they will multiply significantly by morning.
