Don't overlook them! If these 3 signs appear on your feet, go to the doctor immediately because it could be fatal for you

Written by SOT.COM.AL 21 Mars 2023

We usually don't pay much attention to our feet or soles, as we keep them "hidden" in our shoes and rarely take the time to examine our skin or nails to see if there are any worrisome changes that require medical evaluation.
But because our body finds different ways to warn us of malfunctions, there are specific signs on the feet, especially on the bottom of the ankles and below, which are typical of heart problems.
See three of the most distinctive features and make sure you don't ignore them if they catch your eye
What it indicates: Poor blood circulation
Hair loss near the ankles or toes is indicative of reduced blood flow to the extremities due to peripheral arterial disease.
In addition to hair loss, you may also notice slight bruising on the fingers or an unusual sheen to the skin.
Symptoms of peripheral arterial disease are usually mild in the early stages, and a doctor can diagnose it with the help of a clinical examination or X-ray.
2. Small red lines under the nails
What they show: Heart infection
Thin red lines indicate rupture of small blood vessels in the lower extremities. They are caused by small clots that damage the capillaries under the nails.
So people who have them, wear a pacemaker in their heart, or have a particularly weakened immune system (eg, cancer patients receiving chemotherapy) are at greater risk for endocarditis. If left untreated, endocarditis can lead to heart failure.
What it indicates: Heart disease
The symptom can appear in both toenails and fingernails. In addition to heart disease, it is also indicative of lung or intestinal dysfunction.
In the case of heart disease, it is the result of increased vascular resistance and therefore increased blood circulation in the blood vessels under the nails.
Thus, the underlying tissue swells and gives the nails a rounder shape and greater width.
