Written by SOT.COM.AL 5 Korrik 2022
In this year's Mediterranean Games, which are being held in Oran, Algeria, from June 25 to July 6, Albania managed to win 4 medals, 2 gold, one bronze and 1 silver. The athletes in question are athlete Luiza Gega, wrestlers Zelimkhan Abakarov and Islam Duadaev, as well as weightlifter Erkand Qerimaj, who will be rewarded according to the law. But what exactly are the amounts that benefit?
Luiza Gega will receive 20 million old lek for the gold medal and 30 million for the Mediterranean record, i.e. a total of 50 million old lek.
Chechen wrestler Zelimkhan Abakarov, naturalized as an Albanian thanks to the gold medal, will receive 20 million old ALL. Also, Islam Dudaev, another naturalized wrestler from Chechnya, who won the bronze medal representing the red and black flag, will benefit from 8 million old lek from the Albanian state. While the weightlifter Erkand Qerimaj, who was declared runner-up in the breakaway style for the 73 kg weights, will receive 10 million old lek for the silver medal.
Undoubtedly more deserved rewards due to the extraordinary fatigue as well as the respect they paid to the Albanian flag.
