Apple will unveil the latest in its iPhone lineup today as the tech giant improves its flagship smartphone.

The American company will unveil the new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro today, updating last year's iPhone 14 handsets. It is also expected to improve its Apple Watch line.

The iPhone maker will host its launch event, called "Wonderlust," at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park in California.

The event comes at a key time for Apple as global demand for new smartphones falls to its lowest point in a decade. Apple is also facing its longest decline in smartphone sales since 2016 as iPhone revenue fell over the summer.

What are the best new iPhone 15 features?

The new iPhone 15 is likely to be a modest upgrade over previous generations of the iPhone, which was first introduced in 2007, although all four models will have changes compared to the iPhone 14 line.

While rival phone makers have brought back fingerprint sensors by embedding them in the phone's display or on the back of the phone, Apple is not expected to follow suit.

We don't yet know how much the new iPhone will cost, but all signs suggest it could get a bit more expensive. The current iPhone 14 cost £849, while its iPhone 14 Pro model started at £1,099. Those prices made headlines last year as inflation drove up the price of Apple's new phones. The iPhone 14 Pro jumped £150 compared to its equivalent iPhone 13 Pro, while the regular 14 was £70 more expensive.

Analysts at Barclays expect the iPhone 15 lineup to come with a higher price tag — around $100 more for the iPhone 15 Pro and between $100 and $200 more for the iPhone15 Pro Max. It remains to be seen whether inflation will have pushed the price up further.
