Eat this fruit in the evening and you will fall asleep faster

Health conditions, as well as stressful everyday life, can seriously threaten the quality of sleep. Fortunately, this problem can be alleviated with a few simple changes. For example, some experts encourage the consumption of fruit to increase the duration and quality of sleep. More specifically, cherries and kiwi have been shown to be helpful in improving sleep efficiency.

Scientists came to this conclusion after conducting an experiment between the ages of 20 and 55. All participants consumed kiwi one hour before bed each night for four weeks. After this period, they showed more sleepiness before going to bed and the time it took them to fall asleep decreased.

"Total sleep time and sleep efficiency were significantly increased," the study authors explain, although they call for further research to confirm these effects.

Clinical psychologist Michael Breus believes that kiwi is not the only food that promotes sleep.

"There are also vegetables, bananas, nuts, dried fruits, citrus fruits, tomatoes and whole grains. "Calcium-rich foods help increase melatonin levels," he claims.
