"The end of sad words" with photographs, video projection and

The exhibition "The end of sad words" is presented in three exhibition halls, where it is based on mediums such as photography, video projection or installations. Most of these works in the exhibition at the Tirana Art Gallery are inspired by Tirana, since the participation of the artist couple Monika Deimling (Poland) and BBB Johannes Deimling (Germany) for the first time in Albania at the "Cloud" Festival in Tirana in 2015, in addition to their annual contribution to the image of the festival poster, they have also presented several shows and workshops, thus making Tirana and Albania a second home for them after many years. "The end of sad words" does not necessarily mean the beginning of happy words. How would we speak if all the words that make us sad disappeared? How would this affect the way we live together? Would it have any impact on our efforts and emotions? The announcement about the exhibition says that Monika Deimling and BBB Johannes Deimling try to find a language that goes beyond meaning. "A language that addresses our emotions and desires for the future in a messy, sometimes disjointed, but always poetic way. At the heart of this is the question of belonging, where aspects of home, childhood and social connections play an important role in the creation of their works. Hiding the obvious and reaching for hidden treasures is important to unraveling the poetic works of both artists. The artist couple has been in Tirana for eight years and finds great inspiration in Albanian culture, its traditions and its contemporary style. "Albania" is far from a sad word for Deimlings", says the GAT announcement about the exhibition. Throughout the twentieth century performance art was seen as a non-traditional way of making art, in the post-war period performance was adapted to conceptual art and has since been used to also describe film, video, photography and installation artworks. More recently, performance has been understood as a way to engage directly with social reality, the specifics of space, and identity politics. With this very concept in mind, the artist couple from Monika Deimling (Poland) and BBB Johannes Deimling (Germany), as visual artists and educators, aim to change the way performance art has been produced and conceived over time.
