Why are the bells ringing?

- Grandfather, why are the bells ringing, my grandson tells me, since our house is in front of the church. Certainly not for the dead, Hemingway said. The dead cannot hear. The bells are tolling for the living, to invite people to escort the dead and to remind them that there is death…The bells in us are tolling for our current political class. They are even falling even harder these days. They are alarm bells that again do not ring for the dead, but for the living. And when I say the dead, I don't mean the biological dead, but the Albanian political class that has been dead for a long time, spiritually and morally, along with some current party leaders and some pseudo-intellectuals at their service... How should Albanians solve the issue of corruption, organized crime and state capture by oligarchs, political mafia, network of foreign agencies? Understand me however you want, but I think that revenge among Albanians on any basis should be stopped, since it does not solve the problems; it produces new revenges, revanchism, discontent, tensions, insecurity and inhibits the normal development of our society. The race of right-wing or left-wing rallies and anti-rallies inciting a physical confrontation must end as soon as possible. Albanians have shed a lot of blood in these years of transition from some hotheads who, in order to escape justice, are ready to set fire to Albania and keep the stolen money. Schemes are produced from various sites to steal from citizens with those of the Municipality of Tirana or these famous notaries with loans. With the beginning of the process of cleaning up the Albanian political scene and policy-making of the 'democratic' transition period, the Albanian opinion, in various forms, is bombarded daily with news of the most different types of crimes and abuses. The eyes are directed to the SPAK and the BKH, the common people demand quick investigations and punishments of these vampires, the investigation and punishment of these crimes, as vile acts. They have damaged the democratization process, they have damaged the social interest, in many ways they have violated the freedoms and rights of the citizens, they have endangered the well-being of the citizens by looting the social and state wealth, in some cases they have even violated the sovereignty and the integrity of the country in the most serious ways, with these actions endangering peace and security in the country, region and beyond. No politician and leader of yesterday's and today's government, suspected of corruption and crimes, has been punished. Gërdeci, the CEZ affairs, the abuses of the National Road and others are unpunished open wounds that bleed even today. According to this, it is clearly seen that despite the fact that many local and international institutions have engaged in this process, as a result of which a polarization of society has been created on ideological, party, clan, not even tribal and provincial bases, a battle has been opened fierce among powerful business networks,between foreign interests in the country, while the general political climate, interweaving of geopolitical and geostrategic interests, as well as other factors prevent the efficiency of successfully carrying out this process. Based on these facts, it is highly illusory to expect concrete results. It would be encouraging, through justice reform, to achieve the punishment of these criminals in other forms that would no longer produce political tensions, discontent and revolt among citizens, most of them manipulated by propaganda. Therefore, instead of arresting and imprisoning the "big fish", it would be more appropriate, if not sufficient, to confiscate their stolen and criminally acquired property, as well as detention with law on the exercise of functions by these persons suspected of crimes and corruption, who should be isolated for years and decades... Considering our mentality, the lack of democratic tradition, as well as the general circumstances in which Albanians are currently, if not all the big fish can be arrested", at least get the deserved punishment, with confiscation of illegally acquired property...
