Vangjel, there is no place for you...?!

Vangjel, there is no place for you...?!

The Gospel reminds us of many lines of stories, poems, monologues or dialogues that begin with this name. But impressive was and remains that dramatic part of AZÇajup, the great poet of our National Renaissance (that some servile fleas and parasites of today's politics confuse with the rebirth of President E.Rama?) where Tana complains to her friend: "What do you listen to Vangjel, when there is no food" - and ran away to cook for the man. But nowadays there is no room for either, man, neither for Vangjel nor for food because the tourists drowned us foreign! I have an early childhood friend, who was born Vesel, but they changed his name to Vangjel, according to a superstition that, he with a resurrected name, just like that, lives safely and long. Vangjel, who has just taken the first steps in in the eighth year of his life, for ten years he has been spending time with his family in a modest palace in the depths of Divjaka, in an almost virgin place. Once, a few years ago, he invited us there and I saw that it was a very interesting relaxation, firstly, economically, then psychologically, healthily and environmentally. There was sand and salt water, brambles and pines, equilipses and hens; even snakes and fish; watermelons and tomatoes, cherries, peaches - all these organic, as it has become customary to say these years. Only drinking water came from the city, while water for washing and rinsing was best arranged in every kitchen and environment of a drain well. We envied Vangjeli for this month-long vacation so healthy. Yesterday, when we had morning coffee, he told me very sad: the owner of the building from Divjaka took me and told me a news that ruined a lot of my work. I rubbed my eyes. He continued: "O Vangjel, I'm sorry, but there are no seats for this year!" Some foreigners came and occupied me. I managed it with regular contracts with Polish tourists from May to the end of November!" And what should I say to him? - my friend ended the conversation. But I was equally sad. I mean, for Vangjeli, the former exemplary patriotic teacher who taught Albania's geography and history, hundreds of thousands of students no longer had a place to rest in his hometown?! Thus, we hear such complaints in Ksamil, as well as in Durrës, Velipojë, Sarandë, Vlorë. Locals have no place to rest. Competition! - someone will say. Nooo! This is a vicious and pure anti-Albanian policy of the government segments, starting from the relevant ministry and the prime minister himself. These instances know how to count how many tourists enter Rinas in a day (where they often include those who are not tourists but citizens for work, tasks) and they fail to fulfill the task of providing the necessary vacation places for Albanians. The government was voted by the Albanian people and not by the European capitalist magnates who do not know where to take the money! Logic says that in the first place our people should be systematized and then the foreigners. Most of the people have gone crazy - real estate agents and owners of the beaches, greedy for the dollar like wild stallions. Our sons and daughters emigrate because they do not have high wages and conditions here, and in the shop windows we read the posters: "We need cleaners - competitive salary"- ; "We are looking for staff"; "we have jobs for cooks,"; "job for a seamstress"; "looking for a fish peeler" - was written on the door of a restaurant in the small Ring, etc., etc. I was walking down the stairs with my shopping bag in my left hand and in the first floor corridor I saw the seven cleaners of our multi-stair, 18-story building huddled around a woman in a thigh-high dress with red lips. heavy and with a cigarette in his hand, who was talking to them in loud, questioning and high tones. Of course, I didn't stop, but on the way back I met the cleaner of my stairs and asked her what that fiery 'collection' was. The honorable lady who cleans the stairs of the palace surprised me when she told me that the one who spoke so loudly had come from those offices of the capital City Hall that deal with tourism and, after being informed about their salary, she had been offered a monthly salary of seventy thousand lek in month, so thirty thousand more than here. Outside the parentheses: we are only talking about new lek. "We urgently need work force to clean the premises in Tirana where foreign tourists have come! So I urge you to leave this work here and come to us!" I was surprised. But the strongest thing was that when I got out of the elevator, on the seventh floor, I found myself face to face with the administrator of the building, who knows me and I know him, made me a "fantastic" proposal. "Oh, Mr. Sofo, why don't you bring your wife here to me cleaning the palace? He gets sixty thousand lek a month without getting too tired. It is inside and neither the wind nor the rain takes it." I interrupted him by thanking him that my wife is seventy-four years old; not that she doesn't like her job, but from a school principal who has been a little sick all the time, it's difficult even for her age to start again as a cleaner, while our pension, together with the help of our son, is enough for us to live on simple. "He continued: what's wrong with you, for four months she will receive as much money as the MP receives for one month. They don't tell him much, do they?!" I talked as usual once a week, on the phone with Pjetri, my friend from high school of agronomy, who lives in the municipality of Kamëzdhe, among other things he told me: "Prena, my friend, has started a job in Divjakë". I cut him off because maybe I didn't hear him well. Where is Divjaka and where is Kamza! But my friend patiently explained to me: he takes them, drives them and brings them in a van twenty women who work there as cleaners in the premises and environments where foreign tourists are accommodated. The payment is seventy thousand lek per month. There is a van from the other district of Kamza to Durrës-Plazh that makes this route every day. Let alone what is done in Ksamil, where the cleaner asks for a million lek monthly salary to start work, - I was surprised Peter. This is how Edi Rama's tourism mania is bringing in dollars and euros, he and his minions say. But no one shows the losses, damages and worries that this tourist boom initiated and heavily advertised by the prime minister himself, first and then the Albanian media, is causing at the same time. What about the damage suffered by the environment and the objects visited? And the concerns of the locals who have taken their workplaces and foreign resorts; there may be people in Skrapar who want to work in these hotel-restaurants near Osum, but the place has been taken by two girls from Nepal from the foot of Everest and three Filipino boys, from across the Pacific Ocean!? What about the increase in the prices of necessary and daily items that harms the local retired buyers? What about the rise of so many different diseases? Didn't I go to Rinas, did you find any health checks? It doesn't even occur to anyone. It's good that they bring new and unknown cultures and histories to us, so many types of tourists who enter, has anyone thought about how many shows immorality, misinformation, misinterpretation, rape, embezzlement, drugging, espionage and especially national underestimation convey quite a few eyes towards Albania and Albanians? Why did the head of government approve the closure of the National Historical Museum for four years, or because two drops have started to drip in the right corner of the southeast part of the building with communist symbols??!Who eats this! It is a great challenge imposed on the internationalizing effect of the Albanian emblem. So that it is not recognized, not appreciated as it is. "We were in Albania, but they are so far behind that they don't even have a national museum!", quite a few of them will say. In short: you 'dear' average tourists in your pockets, and you magnates of natural adventures, there is no need to know what is the complete history of Albania, the wars, the sacrifices, the culture, the language, the traditions. It is enough to enjoy the meat, the brandy, the forest, the stone and the rock, the sea and the coast. Let the rabbit sleep for some kind of dirty business there in the center of the capital! May you be the last president who set fire to the ancestral and very ancient house of the Albanians!any health check? It doesn't even occur to anyone.
