This is why the secret service in Serbia is again at the service of Vu?i? and his regime, as the president "filled" the mind of the USA that the head of the BIA is no longer Russian, but a collaborator of the Americans
Written by Elmas Bogdani 9 Dhjetor 2023
Tomislav Radovanovic, the former head of the Service for Special Investigation Methods of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, has been appointed in place of Aleksandar Vulin as the head of the secret service in Serbia. He is known for his close ties with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. Radovanovic was a member of the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs, while for many years he was the commander of the Belgrade Police Intervention Unit. He is also well-liked by the Americans as he has managed a US-funded fund as part of the resocialization program for former inmates of the notorious prison at the US military base in Cuba. However, it is said that precisely this "connection with the USA" was the key to the selection of Radovanovic, who should satisfy the Americans, that is, create the impression that the head of the BIA is no longer Russian, but a man who cooperates with the Americans. This is again, according to some analysts, Vucic's predictable Balkan game. Tom Guantanamo was the former head of the Service for Special Methods of Investigation of the Ministry of the Interior of Serbia, but his best recommendation for that position, like Vulin, is his proximity to President Vucic. Radovanovic was dismissed from this position earlier this year and transferred to the BIA.
Head of the Intervention Brigade
Tomislav Radovanovi? was also the head of the Intervention Brigade of the Belgrade Ministry of Internal Affairs and part of the closest team of Dijana Hrkalovi?, former secretary of state in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, problematic and intriguing, when the controversial Nebojša Stefanovi? was in charge of the Ministry. We remind you that Dijana Hrkalovic was arrested and suspected of collaboration with organized crime, namely the group of Veljko Belivuk, known as Velja Nevolja, who is being tried in Belgrade. According to some reports, his criminal group "worked for Vu?i? and the regime". Dijana Hrkalovic, after spending several months in detention, later became the main penitent. According to the Serbian investigative portal KRIK, as reported by the regime media, Radovanovic has used many recorded conversations as capital that has ensured that he is one of the favorites for the post of police director until the end of 2021. He is known to the public for the fact that two years ago (2021) he was invited to the pro-regime TV Prva, where he said that in the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs there was a parallel structure that eavesdropped on President Aleksandar Vucic. This in the middle of the Jovanjic affair, when it was discovered that under the auspices of the state, in a greenhouse near Stara Pazova, was the largest marijuana plantation in Europe, as the independent Belgrade media wrote at the time, this was precisely connected with people from Vucic's vicinity and families. It is about the suspected scandal of wiretapping of the Serbian president, his brother Andrej and son Danilo.
In February of this year, NIN wrote that Vucic himself had said that "Radovanovic revealed to him that he was being tapped". Vucic then, writes NIN, declared that "he didn't believe him immediately because he didn't want to appear paranoid". Also, the timing of the selection of a person loyal to Vucic for the post of BIA chief is also important, because very important parliamentary elections are being held in Serbia at the end of next week and according to some signals, the opposition may get an important result in them. Also, the media write that there are speculations that Radovanovic intercepted police general Slobodan Maleši?, in order to remove him as a possible competitor for the post of police commissioner. The Podgorica portal Analitika writes that Radovanovic has been in France for some time as a "police attaché". In any case, the BIA was headed by a man no less controversial than Vulin, and his appointment only confirms the "rumors" that the secret service is entirely at the service of Vucic and his regime. Radovanovic was placed at the head of the BIA after Aleksandar Vulin, his US-sanctioned predecessor in this position, resigned on November 3 of this year.
