Extraordinary elections for the mayors of North Mitrovica, Leposaviq, Zveçan and Zubin Potok, have been announced for April 23, after the presidents of the Serbian List have resigned due to the decision of the Government of Kosovo to implement the process of re-registration of vehicles with Serbian license plates. on Kosovo license plates.
The previously announced elections, for December 18 of last year, were postponed at the request of the international community.

This means that there are a total of 11 candidates from four political subjects, of which only two are from the Serbian community.
The Serbian List emphasizes that the decision not to participate in these elections was made in accordance with "the views of the citizens that it has been representing for years".
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, wrote on his Twitter account, on March 23, that the refusal of the Serbian List to participate in the local elections is "a sign of Belgrade's control over the party and its continuous interference in the affairs of interior of Kosovo".
Since 2013, when this party was formed, it has received over 90 percent of the votes from the Serbian community in almost all elections in Kosovo.
