The Specialized Chambers of Kosovo in The Hague have announced that based on the decisions of the judge of the preliminary procedure, dated July 22, 2022 and September 29, 2022, the Office of the Specialized Prosecutor has submitted the confirmed amended indictment against Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selim.
Otherwise, on September 29, the preliminary judge approved the request of the Specialized Prosecutor to withdraw the allegations of crimes in the municipality of Ferizaj.
Meanwhile, the judge had partially approved the defense motion of Hashim Thaçi, submitted to the amended indictment in the case where he, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, are being accused of war crimes and the SPS was ordered to make changes to the amended indictment.
Regarding this, the ZPS was ordered to submit the further amended indictment by September 30.
A statement from the SC stated that on July 22, the Pre-Trial Judge partially approved the request of Thaçi's defense, which alleges deficiencies in the last indictment against the accused in this court case, submitted on April 29, 2022. "Judge Giju ordered ZPS - to submit, by September 30, 2022, the confirmed indictment further amended, with a number of additional information related to the current charges. Otherwise, on April 29, the Office of the Specialized Prosecutor submitted an amended indictment against Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selim and Jakup Krasniqi.
The prosecution is claiming that the four accused have also committed war crimes in Gjilan, Budakovo and Semetishte.

The indictment against Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi was confirmed on October 26, 2020.
According to the indictment, at least between March 1998 and September 1999, Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi, Jakup Krasniqi and other members of the joint criminal enterprise had the common goal of securing and exercising control over all of Kosovo through methods that included the intimidation, ill-treatment, use of violence and illegal elimination of those considered opponents.
"These opponents included persons who were, or were considered to have been: (a) collaborators or connected with forces, officials or state institutions of the FRY, or who (b) otherwise did not support the goals or methods of the KLA and later of the KPK, including persons associated with the LDK and Serbs, Roma and persons of other nationalities (collectively, 'opponents'). This common purpose included the crimes of persecution, imprisonment, arbitrary or illegal arrest and detention, other inhumane acts, cruel treatment, torture, killing and enforced disappearance of persons," the indictment states.
Furthermore, Azem Syla, Lahi Brahimaj, Fatmir Limaj, Sylejman Selimi, Rrustem Mustafa, Shukri Buja, Latif Gashi and Sabit Geci are also mentioned in the indictment.
According to the indictment, the accused together with other KLA leaders contributed to the achievement of the common goal.
"Alternatively, some or all of these individuals were not members of the joint criminal enterprise, but were used by members of the joint criminal enterprise to commit crimes in furtherance of the common purpose (together with members of the NKP, jointly "members and instruments of the NKP", says the indictment.
