Allegations of violating the ministerial code, Rishi Sunak reveals if there will be an investigation for Suella Braverman

Written by SOT.COM.AL 24 Maj 2023

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak declares that Home Secretary Suella Braverman has not violated ministerial rules and will not be investigated. Opposition parties had called for an inquiry into whether she had breached ministerial rules. But after discussions with his ethics adviser, Sunak said it is not necessary for Braverman to be investigated, writes the BBC.
Earlier, the leader of the Labor Party, Keir Starmer, has called on Rishi Sunak to immediately start an investigation against secretary Suella Braverman, as the latter, according to him, has broken the ministerial code. Starmer has also stressed that the United Kingdom's home secretary should leave her job if the suspicions raised are confirmed. The Labor leader's reaction comes after it is claimed Braverman sought help from Home Office civil servants to get his fine lifted after he was caught speeding.
