Deputy of the Democratic Party, Jorida Tabaku, invited to a television program, commented on the issuance of 15 arrest warrants by SPAK for the issue of the Tirana incinerator.
The Democrat said that it is a good development that the investigations for Tirana continue, while adding that the expectations from SPAK are high.
Excerpt from the interview:
You reacted in relation to the Tirana incinerator where you said that 'There is a time to plant and a time to reap! 'What are we reaping today?
Tabaku: The highest orders were for Minister Koka, Bllako. The new one was the Municipality of Tirana. These are the second accusations against the Municipality of Tirana. For me, it is a good development that the investigations into Tirana continue. I have welcomed and welcome any progress in the investigation. Knowing the file, this could not be done without the mayor's approval. Pears behind Veliaj's back without his signature, no one ate them.
Who's reaping it? Are we dealing with a group of criminal structures?
Tabaku: I also used this expression for the establishment of investigative commissions for incinerators. I believe that it is necessary at this moment to look at where we have come. This is a positive political development.
Do you think SPAK is up to the test?
Tabaku: It remains to be seen. We have to wait for the investigation to be completed. Expectations are high. I regret this process. For me, not voting on the investigative commission's report was a regret in this process. For most of the time I was also alone, since then the division in the DP began. When I look back, I believe we did a public good.
Amendment of the law on investigative commissions. Are you familiar with this draft?
Tabaku: I have been known in the media about this draft.
Will this serve as a bridge of communication between the opposition and the majority?
Tabaku: If this law had entered into force, we would not have had these results. Unfortunately, the opposition is in the minority. The SP proposal turns investigative commissions into their instruments and limits the space of the opposition. The SP proposal goes in the opposite direction. PS blocked my letters. Practically, we should have a commission of inquiry.
The refusal to set up investigative commissions has become the cause of the clash in the Assembly. The majority has called the objects not formulated, why doesn't the opposition do the same?
Tabaku: They didn't ask for good wording. Who are they to judge the constitutionality? In some cases, he has addressed the Constitutional Court, but on the one hand, he does not have much physical time.
