As far as I know, Albanians travel without visas to Azerbaijan

As of yesterday, citizens of Albania with regular passports can travel to Azerbaijan without visas.

The ambassador of Azerbaijan in our country, Anar Huseynov, in a post on the social network X, informs that "from today, even the citizens of Albania with regular passports can travel to Azerbaijan without a visa".

The agreement on the waiver of visas for Albanian citizens traveling to Azerbaijan was signed on March 1, 2024 in the presence of Prime Minister Edi Rama from Besart Kadia, the then Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs and Fariz Rzayev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

This agreement was signed within the framework of the visit that Prime Minister Edi Rama made to Azerbaijan at the beginning of March this year, at the head of a high-level delegation where he held a series of important meetings opening new opportunities for tourism, economic development and cooperation between the two countries.

The intensification of bilateral relations between Albania and Azerbaijan touched another dimension with the visit of the Albania-Azerbaijan Joint Committee this week in Baku.

In the next meeting between the Joint Committee, the possibility of cooperation between the two countries in several important sectors, starting from tourism, health, education and up to digitalization, was widely discussed and the joint commitment of both countries was confirmed in the next meeting. to talk about concrete results in all areas where opportunities to work together have been identified, with the economy in the foreground.

During this visit, the agreement on the implementation of the Korça gasification pilot project, the regasification terminal in the Korça Bay, as well as the possibility of companies from both countries participating in renewable energy projects were discussed.

The abolition of visas creates new opportunities for tourism, economic development and cooperation between the two countries, whose reports have marked an important jump in the concrete strengthening of cooperation, especially during the last year, which also marked the opening of the Azerbaijani embassy in Tirana and awaiting the opening of the Albanian embassy in Baku this fall.
