The African heat is coming. Meteorologist Lajda Porja says that the Albanian territory will be affected this week by high temperatures that will go above 40 degrees. Berati, Gjirokastra, Elbasan will be the areas that will mark 40 degrees, but according to the meteorologist, this temperature will be exceeded in other areas.

"Air masses of African origin have covered most of the Mediterranean, with their epicenter in southern Italy, bringing extreme temperatures and values. Today the weather is clear, with light and passing clouds, more visible in the mountainous areas. No precipitation is expected. Starting with temperatures of 35 degrees, Tuesday will bring an even more significant improvement in the weather, where the sun will be present. Temperatures will rise to 37 degrees. Thursday and Friday will be the two hottest days this week. We expect high temperatures, which will be recorded in the interior of the territory. It will be the district of Berat, Gjirokastra, Elbasani, the areas where they will mark 40 degrees. In isolated areas even above this value. Temperature from 35-38 degrees, we expect along the coastline, where 37 will be Saranda and Ksamil. The somewhat cooler area will be the southeast," she said.

Regarding the region, she said:

"North Macedonia will be another country where it will experience quite high temperatures and why today it will be 33. From next Tuesday we expect high temperatures. The hottest days for MV will be Thursday and Friday, where Skopje will reach 38 degrees. Kosovo will be under the influence of clear weather, light and transient clouds.
