The films of directors Kushtrim Beketshi and Luan Kryeziu in "Dea Open Air"

Two of the films of the 11th edition of the "Dea Open Air" festival were shown at COD. Films by directors Kushtrim Bekteshi and Luan Kryeziu were shown in the Cine KO Program for those present. The Center for Openness and Dialogue-COD expresses, in collaboration with the director Edmond Topi, welcomed the films of the international festival "Dea Film Festival" for two evenings. The film "Unforgotten Spring" (2019) directed by Kushtrim Bekteshi brings to the public the quiet life of a "forgotten" village, which changes dramatically when three prostitutes arrive at the village bar, creating chaos in the entire village. The men, despite the efforts of their wives to stop them, spend all their time in cafes, spending the last money on alcohol and sex. In the end, the women are led to revolt. As a result, the cafe burns down, while life in the village seems to return to normal. The film "Hero" (2015) by director Luan Kryeziu tells the story of a war hero and his post-war confrontations in the new Kosovo; the social circumstances that accompany it, as well as the political and economic influence on the change of the main character, who had the principle virtues. Love, sincerity and honesty are brought to their knees by economic problems, which influence the change in the behavior of individuals, families and society. The international film festival "Dea Open Air" this year took place with the participation of 39 films from 25 countries of the world. The films presented and the authors who participated in the competition this year have first been subjected to the preliminary selection of the international commissions, closed at the end of March.
