"Folk on tour" to bring a part of the creativity of our rich folklore with songs, dances and folk costumes, promoting the cultural heritage

Our folklore with folk songs and dances will come from the artists of the National Ensemble of Folk Songs and Dances. Following the artistic activity, the Folk Ensemble will bring another concert this summer season. The artists are today in the city of Pogradec, to convey a rich artistic program to those present. The National Theater of Opera, Ballet and Popular Ensemble says that the artists will give life to the city of Pogradec with their concert. This concert follows the activities of the Folk Ensemble, where TKOB says that "Folk on tour" aims to convey to the public our folklore creativity. "The artists of the TKOB Folk Ensemble bring a bouquet of song and dance for all the art lovers of Pogradec and not only. "Dance of Guilt", "Duet of Tirana", "Dance of Shupal", "Come out to see with my eyes", "Vitori be your mother", "In the age of maturity", are just some of the titles of the songs and dances featuring the artistic program that will give more life to the beautiful June nights. The concert takes place today at the "Odeoni" square in Pogradec, as part of the activities organized for the 2024 summer tourist season.

Ensemble and concerts in artistic activity

The concert that takes place in the city of Pogradec with the artists of the National Ensemble of Folk Songs and Dances comes after the one that took place before in the Kruja fortress. Just like the concert in the city of Pogradec, also in Kruja, the artistic program of the Popular Ensemble contained selected pieces, such as the songs "The dress I brought last night", "Bash zaman, o bylbyl", "Kur m zbret nga Voskopoja", " Tirona has beautiful flowers." There were also dances in Krujë, such as "Dueti i Tirana", "Pogonishte Dance" and many others. Previously, during the activities of the Popular Ensemble, we also mention the concert "Queen of Albanian Dance", which came to the stage of the National Theater of Opera and Ballet in memory of the dancer Lili Cingu "The Great Master". In April, in honor of the great master of pen and polyphony of the south, Lefter Çipa, "Nderi i Kombit", the Ensemble of Folk Songs and Dances brought the concert "Songs of my homeland". The Folk Song and Dance Ensemble (AKVP) or the State Ensemble, was created in 1957 as a professional ensemble. This ensemble consists of singing soloists, orchestra, dance group and choir. The purpose of AKVP is the processing, development and dissemination of the folklore treasure of Albania. This includes the great vocal, instrumental, choreographic and costumographic folklore assets, which vary from area to area, creating a color of motifs. Albanian folklore stands out for its originality, antiquity and variety of artistic genres. Many ethnographic areas have their own peculiarities in songs, dances, costumes, rites and customs.
