Promotion of publications with the creativity of Ramadan Sokol, as well as a concert with his works at the University of Arts

The concert with the creativity of Ramadan Sokol came with the interpretation of the teachers of the University of Arts and students. Ramadan Sokoli ethnomusicologist, musician, composer and writer was remembered on the 104th anniversary of his birth through an activity that brought together artists, art teachers, students and beyond, where two publications with his creativity were also promoted. The book "Album" with selected works for flute; publishing manager Adelina Shehu Hoxha, editing and preparation for publication Lorenc Radovani, Isak Shehu, consultant Rozana Kuka; as well as "Pianist piece" (with four hands), publishing and digitization manager Adelina Shehu Hoxha, music editing Robert Radoja and cover image Fatos Kola. Professor Lorenc Radovani, violin teacher at the Faculty of Music, while describing the figure of prof. Ramadan Sokolit brings to attention his great contribution in the field of music. "On the 104th anniversary of his birth, we thought to deal with his creativity, because the figure of Ramadan Sokol is complex. He has dealt a lot with musicology, folkloristics, musical instruments, etc., says Professor Radovani. This activity with the promotion of the two editions, as well as the concert with his creativity, the artists did together the day before, but Professor Radovani also stops at the work that has been done for these two editions. He says that for these books he collaborated with the family of prof. Sokol. "The works of prof. have been published at different times. Ramadan Sokolit, but today two books with his creativity were promoted. We have collected works that were exclusively the creativity of Ramandan Sokol, as a creator, as a composer. The family made them available to us and we have made two summaries, parts of which were performed in this concert", says professor Lorenc Radovani about the concert, which took place in the "Ibrahim Madhi" hall of the UA.

One of the greatest music scholars

Ramadan Sokoli (Shkodër, June 14, 1920 - Tirana, March 12, 2008) musician, composer, writer and the first Albanian ethnomusicologist, according to critics, is appreciated as one of the greatest researchers of Albanian and Balkan music. Ramadan Sokoli studied flute and composition in Florence. He worked in various tasks in the field of culture and music, since 1953 he has been a teacher at the "Jordan Misja" high school in Tirana, where he founded the flute class, the folklore class and the cabinet of folk instruments, which became the basis of Albanian ethnomusicology. . He led many expeditions and collected rich folkloric source material, including among the Arbëreshes of Italy. Ramadan Sokoli, was one of the first researchers of our popular polyphony, where through deep and scientific study he shed light on the distinctive qualities and features of singing with many voices. In the 50s, he led two international ethnomusicological expeditions with foreign researchers, in the south and north of the country. In musical creativity, Ramadan Sokoli has written songs for children, adults, as well as instrumental pieces. Following the various activities dedicated to prof. Scientific symposia have also been held in Ramadan Sokol.
