"Here, the opposition must work and create a vision", Neritan Sejamini reacts harshly: Ilir Meta is not showing who are the exponents of money laundering

Analyst Neritan Sejamini, commenting on today's declarations of the president of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, about money laundering, said that the former president of the country is not showing who the exponents of money laundering are and does not propose any measure how to solve this problem in the future.

"The flaw is that he is raising an essential problem of the entire political economy and Albanian society, and at first the meaning is a development or continuation of his well-received attitude. The problem is that there are two shortcomings in Mr. Meta's attitude, and in general in the attitude of politicians, even when he mentions money laundering.

Firstly, there is no in-depth analysis of how money laundering is being done, who are the exponents of money laundering, and secondly, no measures are proposed as to how this problem will be solved in the future. How can today, being in the opposition, propose or scare in order to stop this kind of phenomenon? Here, the opposition should work and create a vision for this. There are methods that, even being in the opposition, through the promises you make when you come to power or through exposure, you can in some way restrain or influence the slowing down of this type of phenomenon. For example, I am saying in vain, if you say that you are coming to power, I will verify the wealth of all those who have invested in these, whether these are constructions or all those who have bought apartments in these constructions, so you put them in front of the responsibility that if these are operations, which both in construction and purchase, are financed by money laundering.

If you say, you can legally take this as a contract, but when I come to power, I will pass it all to the units only for the source of money, like those who bought it. There are other measures, the point is that when they denounce it, they should denounce it with facts and concrete analysis, where, how and why it is happening.

And the second is that they should take measures or propose measures on what they will do to deal with this problem because the problem of crime in Albania is a problem that will take decades to eradicate its consequences, because it has become the main mechanism economic and the whole economy today is being shaped on the basis of money laundering" - said Sejamini.
