"Berisha could have hoped for a lot, but Great Britain again confirmed his black mark", Gjikondi does not hold back: the London court confirmed his ties to crime

Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha could have hoped for a lot, but Great Britain once again confirmed the black mark, that of "non grata".

In July 2022, the Home Office declared Berisha non grata, for clear links with organized crime groups and for corruption.

Berisha had appealed this decision in Great Britain, but the Special Commission of Immigration Appeals in London, this Monday, gave the decision that the former prime minister cannot cross the English Channel and therefore cannot set foot on the island.

Lawyer Brizida Gjikondi, invited to a TV show, said that the Court in London reconfirmed Berisha's ties to crime with its decision.

"The London court confirmed his links to crime. Paris has been forgotten by Berisha and he doesn't mention it, and he trumpets this and now that the bomb exploded in his hand, he starts and attacks him," she said.

She commented on the statement of the American embassy in Tirana, which stated that it has not changed its position on non gratas, receiving another blow, a few days after the Appeal gave Berisha's DP seal.

"This kind of statement by the USA and the decision of Great Britain reconfirmed that Berisha is a non grata with the courage of the USA and Great Britain", she said.

Commenting on Basha's activity and the lost battle for the seal of the Democratic Party, Gjikondi said that regardless of the actions he can take, Basha is a hostage to his political past.
