The draft anti-corruption resolution proposed by Prime Minister Rama, despite the skepticism of the opposition, passes today to the Assembly for approval. The anti-corruption resolution was included in the agenda only with the majority votes during the meeting of the Conference of Presidents, while the opposition abstained as it is skeptical about the functioning of this new mechanism.
This draft resolution aims to increase the rule of law, fight corruption and align Albanian legislation with that of the European Union.
The approval of this resolution in the parliament requires a simple majority of votes, which means that the majority can easily approve it with just its votes. After the approval of the resolution between the parties, discussions are expected to start for the establishment of a special commission, which will monitor the work of the institutions, including those of justice for the fight against corruption, recommend and propose legal changes in accordance with the legislation of the European Union.
The Assembly meets today at 13:00, while after the green week the legislators will also discuss the problems identified in the area during the meetings with the citizens.
