The Venetian administration of Shkodra in the 15th century and other issues at the conference "Medieval Culture in the Arbor Areas"

Medieval culture in the forest spaces gathered researchers at an international scientific conference. The Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences, in cooperation with the Institute of History "Ali Hadri", Prishtina held the conference "Medieval culture in the arboreal spaces" in the library of the university "Luigj Gurakuqi". The conference took place in two parallel sessions and 16 well-known researchers of the period of Albanian medieval history participated in it. The participants came from six different institutions, such as the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of Albania, the Institute of History "Ali Hadri" Kosovo; "Albanisches Institut" in St. Gallen, Switzerland; History Department of "Luigj Gurakuqi" University, Shkodër; the history department of the University of Tirana, as well as from the "Eotvos Lorand" University (ELTE) Budapest. The issues that were discussed at the conference were numerous. They covered a period of time from the early Middle Ages to the late Middle Ages. The topics were from different fields. They were related to the ecclesiastical history of the Albanian lands; with archaeological research of various medieval churches and cities; with issues of economic history; with administrative issues, especially with the Venetian administration of Shkodra in the XV century, and with the political activity of noble women in Arbëri during the late Middle Ages and with other issues. At the end of the sessions, there were also discussions about the topics held. The scientific conference "Medieval culture in the forest spaces" follows the activity of the Institute of History.
