The "Mirrors of Narcissus" festival, two evenings dedicated to poetry in the Venetian Torra in the city of Durrës

Interpretations from poetic creativity, but also discussions on issues of poetry and the art of literature at the "Pasqyra e Narciziz" festival. The festival organized by the National Book and Reading Center took place in the premises of the Venetian Torra in Durrës. Two nights of poetry, made together by the young poets of the city of Durrës, but also of other cities. This festival, conceived by the National Book and Reading Center according to the director Alda Bardhyli, came as a way to bring the young generation as close as possible to reading and poetry in particular. "The purpose of this festival is to bring the poet and poetry closer to the reader, to encourage the reading and writing of poetry as one of the most eloquent forms of written art, and at the same time to turn the attention of young people towards Albanian history and culture," said the director. of the National Book and Reading Center, Alda Bardhyli. The festival started on May 22 in the Venetian Torra in Durrës. The first night dedicated to poetry brought together the poets and prose writers Alban Tufa, Tobias Xhaxhiu, Bujar Hoxha and Pol Milo, offering interpretations of their poetic creativity, but also discussions on issues of poetry and the art of literature. The theme of the first night dedicated to poetry was "Eros and poetry". How does Eros find his way to poetry? Is poetry the area that alienates the face of love? How are the relations between Eros and poetry? How has the poetic material changed from the poetic beginning to the present day? What are the themes that young poets are interested in elaborating in their verses? These were some of the questions that the young poets shared with the attendees.

The festival on the second night

The poetry festival for young people "Mirrors of Narcissus" continued on the second night with other young poets in the spaces of Torra Veneziane in Durrës. How does the female figure appear in the poem? What new attributes have the poets decided to put on her? How is the Albanian woman in verses and prose lines? Is there a similarity between women in literature and women in everyday life? What is feminine beauty today in poetry? Such questions and issues related to Albanian poetry were discussed by the panelists Olimbi Velaj, Nurie Emrullai, Majlinda Rama, Liza Brozi and Ersid Karaj. The poetry festival "Reflections of the Narcissus" follows other activities previously developed by the National Book and Reading Center with a focus on creativity and our authors. A year ago, KKLL held another festival in Durrës, where authors, researchers and beyond gathered for literature at the "Varg" festival. A festival that started in the summer season in the Venetian Torra in Durrës, where the first night of the festival symbolically united Albania and Kosovo in a literary scene. The mission of the National Book and Reading Center is to pursue and implement projects in the field of books, aiming to spread the culture of reading throughout the country and encourage creativity.
